Inspired by artists such as Within Temptation, Evanescence, Tori Amos
and Lacuna Coil, Ashes of Eve combine driving beats, soulful lyrics and
soaring melodies in a warm fusion of rock and the darker side of pop.
With several years of musical collaboration between Vocalist and
songwriter, Elva Griffiths and musician and producer, Shannon Parkes,
finally, in early 2008 Ashes of Eve was born.
Currently unsigned and self promoted, the duo pride themselves on their
studio quality sound and ability to see a track through its full life
cycle. From pencil scratches on paper through to a polished recording,
Shannons attention to detail and growing production skills continue to
turn Elvas powerful metaphors and haunting melodies into songs that
touch the hearts of pop, rock and metal fans alike.
"When i'm sleeping" is the first track from the forthcoming self titled
EP. Elva weaves the warm, rich melody, driving beats, sweeping strings
and a dash of mysticism into a tale of love lost and the self discovery
that follows in this darkly decadent ballad.
